7th April,

19.38.

Chung Chỉ Cheung V. The King.

We beg to acknowledge, with thanks, receipt of

your letter of yesterday enclosing copy of a telegram from

the Governor of Hong Kong, dated the 29th March.

2.

We have consulted the Registrar of the Privy

Council and have discussed the matter with the Appellant's

Solicitors, and we shall be glad if you will kindly inform

the Governor that the certified copies sent to Messrs. Reid

Sharman & Co. on the 27th November last can be used for the

preparation and printing of the Record, but that in addition

there will be required a full copy of the depositions of the

extradition proceedings and the committal proceedings,

together also with a certified copy of the Summing-up by

the Trial Judge, which does not appear to be with the papers

sent to England.

The Under Secretary of State,

Colonial Office,

Downing Street,

S.W.1.

We are, Sir,

Your obedient Servants,

Burchells.
